Saturday Night Live vet Colin Jost and his brother. Deadline reports that Colin and Casey Jost are set to write the script for the new film, which will be produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick and Galen Walker.
It is not yet clear if this will be a direct continuation of the franchise as relaunched under the 2014 film and its 2016 sequel
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. The first was a success, while the second was much less so.
Plot details are under wraps for the new movie, though Deadline notes that Paramount still sees the franchise as a “high priority.”

Paramount relaunched the franchise back in 2014 with
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which was followed by a sequel in 2016,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. While the first film was reasonably successful, the sequel was a bit of a box-office bomb, which led to Paramount scrapping the planned third installment. While it s not known exactly what this new live-action film will be about beyond revolving around the turtles, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick, and Galen Walker have all returned as producers. Colin Jost & Brother Will Write New Live-Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie
It seems that comedians are in control of the cinematic future of the Ninja Turtles. Last year we learned that Seth Rogen was producing a rebooted animated film for the heroes in a half shell, and now Colin Jost, along with his brother Casey, has been tapped to write a screenplay for Paramount’s next live-action
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. With Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick, and Galen Walker producing, the film sounds like it will be more in line with the rebooted series that starred Megan Fox.
