LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Â As of Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the state’s official COVID-19 tracking website shows that 756,564 Michigan residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Since March 10, when the first death was reported, 16,586 Michiganders have died from the acute respiratory illness. A Breakdown of COVID-19 Data
The 24-hour data increase shows that 8,867 more people have contracted the virus. In addition, there were 74 new deaths.
On Saturday, May 23 the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services also announced changes to how COVID-19 testing data is reported to make it more accurate and relevant as the state continues to expand diagnostic testing.

KALAMAZOO, MI The Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department is expanding vaccination clinics being held at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center to three days per week starting April 20.
Ascension Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department and WMed Health will combine efforts with staffing and supply resources to accommodate more vaccine appointments per week.

KALAMAZOO, MI The Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department is halting plans for all upcoming Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinics, the agency announced Tuesday, April. 13.
The move was made in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration, to review relevant data concerning cases of “extremely rare” but serious blood clots in those who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the health department said.
