Two arrested following large drugs haul in Mayo
Gardaí have arrested two people in connection with a large drugs haul in Ballina.
The Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit seized an estimated €80,000 worth of cannabis following a search of a property in the area.
Shortly after 8:15pm yesterday evening Gardaí carried out a search of a residence in Ballina.
€80,000 worth of cannabis (pending analysis) was seized along with €3,500 in cash.
A man in his 50s and woman in her 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Ballina Garda station.
They can be held for up to 7 days.

A Roscommon TD has called on the Government to fully re-open Irish building sites and to end restrictions on people having to view houses via video links.
Commenting on the Governments Land Development Agency Bill (LDA), Independent Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice says “Let’s get building fully restarted on March 5
th. We need houses, and we need infrastructure and construction has been compliant with all the coronavirus rules.
Deputy Fitzmaurice says we need to take the rebuilding of Ireland by the scruff of the neck and to end the scenario where people have to view new homes by video-link.
