101 complaints from Mayo to the Ombudsman last year
Over 100 complaints were made to the Ombudsman last year from people in Mayo.
The 2020 report shows that, nationally, complaints to the Ombudsman about public services fell by 6% last year compared to the previous year.
3,418 complaints were made in 2020, a third of which related to government departments, while one-quarter of complaints were about local authorities and one-fifth regarding the health service.
Of the almost three and a half thousand complaints made last year, 101 were from Co Mayo, 180 from Galway and 43 complaints from both Sligo and Roscommon.
The Department of Social Protection, Dept of Agriculture and Revenue Commissioners attracted the most complaints pertaining to Govt departments.

Tuam Mother and Baby Home Alliance PRO Breeda Murphy insists the Commission of Investigation Report into Mother and Baby Homes needs to be rejected as invalid.
She says the lack of respect for survivors’ testimony in the Report, makes it an invalid record of what occurred.
Breeda was in attendance at the Oxford online lecture last month in which Professor Mary Daly, one of the three authors of the Commission Report, spoke of its methodology and conclusions and admitted that the testimony of 550 survivors was not included.
