Apple Hospitality REIT last month sold its Springhill Suites by Marriott at 9960 Independence Park Drive for $8.3 million. The deal was recorded with Henrico County on July 26.
The buyer was San Francisco-based Flynn Properties Inc. The deal is the company’s first property in the Richmond area, according to its website. Flynn didn’t respond to a phone message seeking comment Friday.
The 103-room Springhill Suites, which sits near the Gaskins Road and I-64 interchange, is four stories tall and about 60,000 square feet, according to county records. The hotel was built in 2008. An Apple Hospitality affiliate bought the hotel in 2011 for $7.39 million.
Visible to motorists along I-95, the hotel taking shape at the Route 10 interchange is one of several in the works from Chesterfield-based Sina Hospitality.
LANCASTER COUNTY, Va. State police have released the name of the 74-year-old driver killed in a wreck in Lancaster County Wednesday night.
Troopers were called to the single-vehicle crash on Christ Church Road not far from Gaskins Road just after 9 p.m.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2017 Subaru Forester was heading north when it ran off the road to the left and struck a ditch, overturned, and then struck a tree,” Sgt. Dylan Davenport with Virginia State Police said.
Troopers said the driver, Michael J. Conroy of Weems Va., was the only person in the SUV.
Conroy died of his injuries at the scene, according to troopers.
