PESHAWAR: Even before the second inquiry committee of the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), constituted to look into deaths of six patients due to lack of oxygen supply on December 6 submits its report, questions are being raised about the credibility of such an exercise.
Many at the hospital said that the actual number of affected patients that died that night was higher than six that were officially confirmed.
The incident shocked people of the country in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular. KTH is the second biggest hospital of the province, attached to the prestigious Khyber Medical College (KMC).

The Peshawar Inquiry Committee on Sunday has suggested that six employees of Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) should be dismissed over their alleged negligence that resulted in the deaths of six coronavirus patients.

A female Covid-19 patient passed away in Abbottabad s Ayub Medical Complex after the ventilator supporting her broke down on Monday.
The patient, aged 57, had been under treatment for the past three days.
As the woman s family members protested against the medical facility s mismanagement, the doctors responsible reportedly fled the premises.
After the incident, the hospital s management deployed extra law enforcers at the Covid ward. Relatives of the deceased patient continued their protest and have demanded that the provincial government take notice of the mismanagement by the hospital s administration.

PESHAWAR:
The toll the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is having on medics in the province refuses to subside after another medical practitioner succumbed to the pandemic virus on Saturday.
This has raised the total number of doctors who have died from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) to 38 while some 58 medical staff have perished so far.
