Drive-thru birthday caravans have become a wonderful thing here in the Yakima Valley. I remember like it was yesterday when the COVID pandemic shut everything down the third week of March 2020. I recall it clearly because it was the same weekend I had planned to throw my daughter, Willow, her 9th birthday party. I knew that there was no way we would be able to have any kids attend the party so I thought to myself, what if I asked the community to drive past our house on the corner of the street and people could just honk their cars and throw out gifts, balloons, and birthday cards.
Leeds Council announces plans to cut 914 jobs
As well as the rise in council tax, proposals to realign services are also being considered, which the council says would result in job losses of 97.5 full-time posts.
Combined with savings proposals already put forward by the executive board in September, October and November, there could be total job losses of 914 full time posts.
The council has also submitted an application on behalf of Bradford, Calderdale, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and York to form a business rates pool with its fellow Yorkshire authorities.
This means business rates resources will be retained within the region rather than handing them back to central government.

Recently, Montgomery County resident Kayley Wooten is seeing her 2-year-old, Preston Macks, begin to smile again. She often catches him grinning in his sleep.
Wooten and her family’s end-of-year wish is to afford the treatment and therapy needed for Preston to one day be the active boy he was before he drowned in May.
