Updated: 7:54 PM EDT Jul 12, 2021 The Flagler County Sheriff s Office says they nabbed a Catch Me If You Can wannabe from New York. They said the man has 15 different aliases and they caught him with a stolen SUV and $20,000 in forged checks.WESH 2 News obtained the body camera video from when deputies put the pieces together. Officials with the Flagler County Sheriff s Office said Joseph Borelli had stories ready to go, but that those stories began to unravel very quickly. Deputies said Borelli stole an SUV from a dealership in New York, stole the license plate from a different dealership and drove down to Florida.Deputies said they found about $20,000 worth of forged checks. They said Borelli stole them from a business in New York and was trying to cover up with 15 different aliases. Investigators began to chip away at his story. They determined his real identity, Joseph Borelli, and found that he was released from prison in New York less than a month ago.Flagler Count
