Armed man arrested after night-long standoff with deputies

Suspect Charles Zinzow is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. “Our team immediately recognized that this man was having a mental health episode but was still armed, and they began working to de-escalate the situation and continued to do so throughout the entire night until he was safely taken into custody,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This situation could have turned deadly, but through our defensive tactics and techniques training and de-escalation crisis intervention training, the incident was peacefully resolved with no one getting hurt, even if it did take about 8 hours.”

1 Suspect Arrested, 3 Unidentified In Thrift Store Larceny

Feb 19, 2021 4:07 PM Bunnell, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff s Office (FCSO) says four suspects—including one already in custody—were seen stealing several items from a Catholic church s thrift store. Deputies were notified of the larceny that took place at St. Mary s Thrift Store in Bunnell on Wednesday (February 17th) after employees noticed that their green wagon, which is typically used to help elderly members transport donated items to and from their vehicles, was missing. After reviewing surveillance footage, staff discovered a white female stealing several items from the store, including the wagon, before loading them into a red Ford Focus. Detectives with FCSO eventually reviewd the footage themselves and began to canvas the area for possible suspects. Woman charged with stealing from church thrift store; three suspects still unidentified

1 month ago Share by: Brittany Kershaw Public Affairs Manager, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office A 46-year-old Bunnell woman stole more than two dozen items  ranging from home decor to a wheelbarrow  from a thrift store owned by the St. Mary Catholic Church, Flagler County Sheriff s Office detectives discovered. “We are continuing to investigate the other thefts and asking the community to contact us if they recognize this vehicle or these suspects.”    RICK STALY, Flagler County sheriff The woman, Angelia Newsome, was arrested Feb. 18. Other thefts from the thrift store are still unsolved. “Our detectives did a great job in locating this suspect and returning the stolen property,“ Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We are continuing to investigate the other thefts and asking the community to contact us if they recognize this vehicle or these suspects.”
