GTT scores tank design order for VLEC pair April 9, 2021, by Adnan Bajic French liquefied natural gas (LNG) containment specialist GTT, has been contracted to design tanks for two very large ethane carriers (VLECs). Courtesy of GTT/Roland Mouron The order has been placed by the South Korean Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard, on behalf of an Asian shipowner. GTT said in its statement it will design tanks for the VLECs with a cargo capacity of 98,000 cubic meters. The tanks will be fitted with the GTT Mark III membrane containment system. The vessels will be delivered in the last quarter of 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.
