LNG shipping stocks: The earnings season begins
The UP World LNG Shipping Index, the world’s only stock index focused on companies in the LNG shipping industry, gained 2.4 points, or nearly 3%, last week. US stocks represented by the S&P 500 (SPX) index gained 4.65%.
The past week brought mixed results and did not have a clear direction of development. The maximums reached during the week were often corrected and the overall increase was lower.
The most successful were the shares of the Japanese company Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK, 9101.T), which rose by more than 15% after the announcement of quarterly results and an increase in dividends.
