The health department official, who is also a prominent doctor, said the experts are examining her condition as of now, and the analysis might take some time.

Consignments are being flown from Pune and are later loaded on to flights headed for different cities in the northeast. On January 12, the SpiceJet flight that flew in from Pune with 1lakh doses later flew to Guwahati with 2, 40,000 doses of vaccine. Of these, 2, 04,000 were meant for Assam. Of the around 10, 00,000 doses that had arrived in the city by the SpiceJet cargo aircraft, almost 7, 00,000 were meant for the health staff in the state.

The state government yesterday announced this. The decision was taken during a meeting between West Bengal health officials and representatives of private hospitals. Several private hospitals have applied to serve as vaccination sites. N.S. Nigam, health secretary told the media, “We have conveyed that they have to conduct vaccination on their premises for which proper arrangements have to be made.”
