$300K worth of illegal drugs seized in Columbia County drug bust

COLUMBUS, Wis. Columbia County authorities seized an estimated $300,000 worth of illegal drugs last week during a drug bust at a Columbus residence.
Officials said they seized more than four pounds of THC wax and oils, two and a half pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, more than a pound of ecstasy powder, LSD, DMT, mescaline and other hallucinogens when authorities executed a search warrant Thursday.
In addition to the drugs, police also seized pill presses, drug ledgers, cutting compounds, growing materials, packaging goods, a gun and an electronic weapon.
2 teens die in head-on crash with semi
SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin (Wisconsin State Journal) Two Sheboygan teenagers died in a head-on crash involving their car and a semitrailer truck in Columbia County, the State Patrol said.
The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 33 and Polinske Road in the town of Marcellon near Pardeeville, Sgt. Craig Morehouse said in a report.
An eastbound 2009 Pontiac G6 containing a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old from Sheboygan collided head-on with a westbound 2016 Kenworth semi driven by William S. Butcher, 27, of Eau Claire, on Highway 33, Morehouse said.
The State Patrol and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office are investigating which vehicle was possibly traveling in the wrong lane, Morehouse said.

Man charged with attempted murder in shooting on US 90, Columbia County deputies say
LAKE CITY, Fla. – A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting last month on U.S. Highway 90 near the Interstate 75 interchange, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua Bell Farmer is charged with attempted murder and other weapons offenses.
Right now, according to investigators, it appears the shooting might have stemmed from a case of mistaken identity.
Two dead in collision between car, semi in Columbia County

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) Two teenagers from Sheboygan were killed when their car collided with a semi in Columbia County, sheriff s officials said.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Town of Marcellon near Pardeeville. Deputies arriving at the scene found the two occupants of the car, ages 15 and 17, had died.
The semi driver, a 27-year-old Eau Claire man, was injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The car was eastbound on Highway 33 and collided head-on with the westbound semi, according to authorities.
The Columbia County Sheriff s Office and the State Patrol are investigating.
Two arrested on drug, child neglect charges after authorities find drugs when responding to porch fire

LEWISTON, Wis. Columbia County authorities arrested two people Sunday on multiple drug charges after finding evidence of drug use while responding to a porch fire the day prior.
Deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters with the Portage Fire Department were dispatched to Oakwood Estates in the Town of Lewiston on Saturday for a report of a porch fire. When crews arrived, the porch was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, and a deputy with the sheriff’s office attempted to make contact with the residents, but no one answered the door. Authorities said the deputy forced entry to the home “to ensure the safety of any possible occupants.”
