FRIDAY UPDATES: Truman VA hosting two events over Presidents’ Day weekend

The Truman VA is hosting a walk-in coronavirus vaccine clinic in Columbia and Jefferson City over Presidents Day weekend.
On Saturday, the Truman VA will be at the Jefferson City Community-Based Outpatient Clinic hosting the clinic for veterans from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Enrolled eligible Veterans who meet current criteria do not need an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccine during the event. However, the number of available vaccine doses will be limited, and Veterans are encouraged to call (573) 635-0233 to reserve a time in advance.
THURSDAY UPDATES: Miller County Health Center reports three COVID-19 related deaths
Miller County Health Center is reporting three COVID-19 related deaths.
The county now has recorded 54 deaths since the county first reported a coronavirus related death in August. The county has reported four coronavirus deaths this month and six this year.
The health center reported 22 new total cases since their last update on Feb. 2.
There are currently 20 active cases in the county.
The county has reported 1,550 vaccine doses administered accounting for 6.1% of the population.
Boone County reports lowest number of active cases since Aug. 13
Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 45 new COVID-19 cases.
WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Missouri DHSS adds 287 COVID-19 related deaths to state dashboard

Missouri DHSS has added 287 COVID-19 related deaths after state’s disease surveillance system analyzed several death certificates.
Officails say the deaths will be captured and reported publicly through the dashboard Thursday morning.
According to the release 30 of the deaths happened after the data download for the dashboard, so those will be reflected in Friday’s update.
Of the 287 deaths:
12 in February.
Officials at DHSS report the weekly activity typically causes a sharp increase in the deaths added to Missouri’s total the following day. DHSS is now regularly analyzing death certificates on Mondays.
