TUESDAY UPDATES: Osage Beach mass vaccination clinic canceled due to winter weather
The cold weather is forcing cancellations at some mass vaccination clinics.
Organizers postponed the Lake Regional Vaccination clinic that was set for Sunday in Osage Beach.
More details about when that clinic will be rescheduled will be released tomorrow.
And just north of Mid-Missouri, health leaders in Kirksville have also canceled their vaccination clinic for tomorrow.
Missouri adds recently retired healthcare providers to administer coronavirus vaccine
Retired healthcare providers have now been added to the list of those authorized to administer the two currently approved COVID-19 vaccines.
Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Director, Dr. Randall Williams, issued an amended standing orders detailing who in Missouri is authorized to administer the vaccines following a move by federal partners to increase the available workforce.
WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Miller County Health Center to partner with Lake Regional Health Systems for vaccine clinics
Miller County Health Center is joining with Lake Regional Health Systems to host a variety of vaccine clinics throughout the county.
These clinics are appointment only and the vaccine will be free.
The health center in a Facebook post says it combined the contact list with Lake Regional’s and established a pool of staff to begin calling those on the lists, starting with those that have been on the list the longest.
The call center will contact you to schedule your appointment.
Clinics will be scheduled as vaccine arrives at either LRHS or our agency.
Columbia shelters prepare for extreme weekend cold

Local shelters are taking extra steps to make sure that people are provided a space through the weekend as Mid-Missouri enters temperatures in single digits.
The Room at the Inn homeless shelter will open an overflow site at Rock Bridge Christian Church on Saturday evening, the organization said on its Facebook page.
The shelter already has locations at the Unitarian Church and the Eastwood Motel. If these locations are full, guests will be shuttled to Rock Bridge Christian Church.
Debby Graham, Room at the Inn board president, said, Unitarian Universalist Church can accommodate 36 guests, Eastwood shelter can accommodate 26-27 guests, and RBCC would be able to shelter 16 guests.
