Attorney General Kwame Raoul commemorated Black History Month by leading a panel discussion with Black attorneys general from around the country. The panel, made up of Raoul, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, New York Attorney General Letitia James and District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine highlighted the importance of addressing racial inequity and fighting for social justice in their roles as attorneys general. The group also discussed their paths to the attorney general’s office; how their personal experiences shape their agendas; and challenges to diversity, equity and inclusion.

A court filing from Racine with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia indicates Trump Jr. answered questions at a deposition on February 11, during which he was asked about a contract signed by the Trump Organization for a block of hotel rooms at the Loews Madison Hotel in Washington during the week of the 2017 inauguration.

Incitement Case Against Trump Would Present Challenges © Drew Angerer/Getty Images WASHINGTON As Donald Trump was acquitted at his impeachment trial on one charge of inciting the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, some Republicans suggested that the proper forum to consider the legality of his behavior was a U.S. court. A top federal prosecutor investigating the riot also has suggested the Justice Department could review Mr. Trump’s actions as part of its sprawling investigation into the attack. And District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine, a Democrat, “is investigating whether former President Trump or any other individual violated district law and illegally incited violence on Jan. 6,” according to a spokeswoman, though his authority is more limited.
