Pueblo vax site gets federal help to address accessibility PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) To increase vaccine accessibility, federal agencies are moving in to help run the mass vaccination site at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in Pueblo. FEMA and the Department of Defense are helping staff the site and providing 3,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine per day from the federal vaccine supply. They are working in partnership with the State of Colorado and Centura Health, who already run the site, to provide additional resources. In a Pueblo County Commissioner s meeting this week, Pueblo Mayor Nick Gradisar mentioned that Pueblo has enough vaccines, just not enough people who are getting them.

Pueblo County is posting images of most ballots from the 2020 general election online as a way for citizens to self-audit ballots to verify election results, following an election season rife with debunked claims of fraud in the voting process.  “This year because of all of the disinformation and I want to be specific, not misinformation but knowingly-told lies about the election   I made the decision that I wanted to put it all on my website,” Pueblo County Clerk Gilbert Ortiz said.

For the second time in less than a month, management of Pueblo’s COVID-19 vaccination site at the Colorado State Fairgrounds officially changed hands Wednesday, this time to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA’s oversight of the eight-week Pueblo County Pilot Community Vaccination Site a joint effort with the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management  is expected to speed up the vaccination process in Pueblo and surrounding rural counties by eliminating social and physical barriers to obtaining the vaccine.
