International Film Festival Of India: Argentina s Pablo Cesar To Enter As Jury Chairman
Argentine filmmaker Pablo Cesar will be the Jury Chairman for upcoming edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Read further details below.
The International Jury for the 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has been announced with prominent filmmakers coming from all the different parts of the world. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry released a statement informing about the Jury. According to the official statement, Argentina’s filmmaker Pablo Cesar has been named as the Chairman of the jury. The other jury members’ names include Prasanna Vithanage of Sri Lanka, Abu Bakr Shawky of Austria, India’s Priyadarshan and Bangladesh’s Rubaiyat Hossain. The official page of the International Film Festival of India too announced the jury members on their Twitter handle.

Movie theatres in Bengal can operate at 100 per cent occupancy (if Covid safety protocols are followed), Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Friday, as she inaugurated the 26th Kolkata International Film Festival.
Ms Banerjee s decision to fully re-open theatres in the state comes a day after the centre directed the Tamil Nadu government to cancel a similar order, reminding the ruling AIADMK (an ally of the BJP) that cinema halls remained restricted to 50 per cent capacity under existing unlock rules.

Amidst the ongoing pandemic, the 26th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) was inaugurated virtually by chief minister Mamata Banerjee at the West Bengal secretariat auditorium.
Bollywood actor and brand ambassador of West Bengal Shah Rukh Khan took part in the inaugural programme through a video call. Wishing luck to the authorities, SRK promised to visit the state soon.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, however, requested SRK to visit Bengal on Raksha Bandhan.
âApur Sansarâ was screened as the inaugural film to show respect to the veteran Tollywood actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who died on November 15.
