A man has been charged with murder after the victim of an assault in Jaywick died in hospital

A man has been charged with murder after a woman seriously injured in an assault in Jaywick died in hospital.
The victim, a woman aged in her 40s, was assaulted in Beach Way at 10.30pm on Friday, April 23 and was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
She died in hospital on Sunday.
Bobby Nethercott, 31, of Park Square East, Jaywick, has been charged with murder and two counts of actual bodily harm (ABH) in connection with the same incident.

A SEX offender who inappropriately touched a woman has been ordered to carry out unpaid work. Peter Broom, 56, had denied one count of sexual assault, but was convicted following a trial at Colchester Magistrates’ Court in March. He was found to have intentionally touched a woman without her consent. Broom, of Nightingale Close, Harwich, appeared for sentence at the same court. He was sentenced to a community order, including a rehabilitation programme, a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work.

Two people have been charged in connection with a burglary in Dunmow in which jewellery and electrical items were stolen.
Items stolen included laptops, an Omega watch, a Pandora bracelet, and Tiffany jewellery.
Darryll Khazanchi, 28, of Ash Grove, Dunmow has been charged with burglary and possession of a Class B drug.
Kaye Davey, 39, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary.
They appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on March 29 and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on April 26.
