PETALING JAYA: The Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) has kickstarted a fundraising campaign aimed at helping families and residents affected by the monsoon and flood season.
MCA Youth national chairperson Datuk Nicole Wong Siaw Ting said CRSM aims to raise RM500,000 to help at least 5,000 flood-hit families rebuild their homes.
“Taking the initiative after the yearly monsoon rain wreaked floods across Malaysia and displaced thousands, the CRSM has gathered 500 volunteers and raised RM200,000 to aid in disaster relief.
“Initially, when the flood conditions worsened, CRSM poured all our manpower into helping out the evacuation process and channelled resources into purchasing dry ration, daily necessities and anti-pandemic supplies.
