Summer Games Done Quick 2021 Schedule Released
This year s Summer Games Done Quick lineup is stacked with classic games, from well-known speedrunning games like Ninja Gaiden to obscure favorites like Mischief Makers.
Speedrunning organization Games Done Quick has released the full schedule for Summer Games Done Quick 2021, and the line-up is the usual mix of classic, well-known, and sometimes unexpected games that speedrun fans know and love. The event will run from July 4 to July 11 and will feature dozens of speedruns.
The opening few games featured will include Dragon Age: Inquisition, Psychonauts, and F-Zero GX. Though the event will feature many well-known speedrunning games like Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, and Super Metroid, it also includes a number of lesser-known or just plain bizarre choices, like the N64 cult classic Blast Corps, a two players, one controller run of Sonic 3D Blast, and the forgotten From Software classic Metal Wolf Chaos XD. The Summer Games Done Quick 2021 schedule is now out, and I’m so excited. Taking place from July 4-11, the online speedrunner charity event will feature over 100 full-tilt sprints through games famous and obscure, with the proceeds raised going to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières.

Summer is nearly here, and while at my home office in Missouri that means that miserable humidity is imminent, it also means that Summer Games Done Quick is upon us. The annual speedrunning marathon will once again bring us a full week’s worth of games getting broken in support of Doctors Without Borders, and now the event’s organisers have provided the full list of games that’ll be at the show.
SGDQ 2021 kicks off in style on Sunday, July 4 at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST with an any% speedrun of Dragon Age: Inquisition set to last under 50 minutes. Not bad for a game that typically takes over 50 hours to play through, and a perfect way to channel that BioWare love for the long wait between Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and the Dragon Age 4 release date.
