After hovering around 30 active COVID-19 cases over the past week, instances of the virus are increasing again in Strathcona County.
COVID19Stats.Alberta.ca, Alberta Health’s geospatial case-tracking site, reported as of Thursday, March 4, there were 52 active cases of the virus in Strathcona County, with 30 active cases in Sherwood Park and 22 in the rural area.

Strathcona County COVID-19 numbers continue to decline.
As of Thursday, Feb. 18, Alberta Health Services reported 62 active cases of the virus within Strathcona County. Of those, 50 active COVID-19 cases were located within Sherwood Park and another 12 cases were located in the rural portion of the county.

Local cases of the coronavirus are on the decline.
AHS reported 24 active cases in Fort Saskatchewan as of Monday, Feb. 1. There were 102 active cases in Strathcona County 83 of those in Sherwood Park and another 19 in the rural County. Sturgeon County reported 24 active cases.

Six more residents of Strathcona County have died as a result of the COVID-19 virus. Between Friday, Jan. 29, and Sunday, Jan. 31, five Sherwood Park residents succumbed to COVID-19 and one resident in the rural portion of the county died from the virus, according to COVID19Stats.Alberta.ca, the geospatial Alberta Health Services case-tracking site. That pushes the local death toll to 29; 25 in the Park and four in the rural county.
