(WCSC) - The three high schools within Dorchester County School District 2 are beginning to confirm dates for their senior proms. Ashley Ridge High School posted on its Facebook page Wednesday morning it would hold its prom on May 30 at the North Charleston Convention Center. Summerville High School previously said it would hold its prom on June 11. Fort Dorchester High School has not yet released an official date for its prom.

The Artistic Discovery Contest will accept entries through April 30. Accepted entries will be chosen to hang in the Capitol for one year. U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace stopped at Fort Dorchester High School on Monday morning to promote the contest.

(WCSC) - Police officers have arrested a Summerville man accused of firing gunshots at a car in North Charleston which led to a lockdown at a nearby school Monday morning. The North Charleston Police Department arrested 18-year-old Ke’Vonte Trevon Green. His arrest stems from an investigation that started on Monday at 9:53 a.m. when officers in the area of Patriots Boulevard and Ashley Phosphate heard 10 to 15 gunshots.
