According to the FMPD tweet, police were care on US-41 investigating the crash.
The roadway remained completely shut down from Winkler Avenue to Hill Avenue as of 11 p.m.

A woman was ambushed at a car wash recently. Deputies say a man snuck up behind her and tried to snatch her purse before taking off.
Tuesday, Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Express Car Wash near Gladiolus Drive in south Fort Myers after receiving a call about the attempted robbery.
According to the deputy report, the woman fought back, and the unknown suspect was unable to get away with money or anything else. The woman did not let go of her purse, and when the strap broke, the man ran away.

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a man who drove his car through a fence off I-75 in Fort Myers Tuesday morning.
A car driven by a 24-year-old Lehigh Acres man with two 23-year-old female passengers one from Estero, the other from Fort Myers was traveling south on I-75, south of Daniels Parkway around 1:33 a.m. According to the FHP, the driver lost control of the car, which traveled off the roadway right, collided with a fence and came to rest.
The driver ran away from the crash. Troopers investigating the incident have determined the driver’s identity. The criminal charge of leaving a crash scene with property damage is pending.

Fort Myers Police Department responded to a crash with injuries at the intersection with Colonial Boulevard and Forum Boulevard in Fort Myers Tuesday night.
According to FMPD, police went to the scene of the crash with a pickup truck and a car, where two children were considered trauma alerts and taken to the hospital to treat injuries.
The status of the drivers and anyone else involved in the crash were not confirmed the night of the crash
The roadway was cleared, and the crash remains under investigation.
