Telefonica and Microsoft to deliver private 5G services
Telefonica and Microsoft are combining to deliver private 5G services to business.
Telefonica’s 5G technology is being integrated with Microsoft’s Azure Private Edge Zone system to provide 5G to applications like smart factories, remote monitoring and automated control of vehicles.
The deal follows the Nokia-Elisa deal last February in which the two companies got together to provide private 5G services which would guarantee “the bandwidth, data transfer speed and short delay agreed for the use of the organisation.”
According to Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark, more money will be invested in private 5G networks than in public networks over the next ten years.
