Seacat Nets Long-Term Charter For Seacat Rainbow At

Credit: Seacat UK-based offshore vessel operator Seacat Services has said that its recently launched catamaran Seacat Rainbow has gone straight on to a long-term charter at the Beatrice offshore wind farm. Seacat Rainbow will support Operations & Maintenance activity for the service team working at the Beatrice offshore wind farm, joining its sister vessel Seacat Weatherly, which is currently on a charter with wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. Both vessels are Chartwell 24 catamaran designs by naval architect Chartwell Marine. Each vessel can accommodate 24 industrial personnel, alongside four crew. They feature advanced engine and hull design, a large foredeck and safety features such as step-free access, sliding handrails and unrestricted visibility from the wheelhouse.

Offshore wind permitting bottleneck expected to ease as Interior completes review of first US large project

Dive Brief: The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) completed its environmental review of the Vineyard Wind offshore wind project, the Department of the Interior announced Monday. The 800 MW project will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm in the U.S. and is expected to start delivering energy in 2023, after developers pushed back the intended 2022 in-service date due to federal permitting delays. The Final Environmental Impact Statement is the second to last step in the federal permitting process for the project. The Interior Department could greenlight the project as early as April, according to Environment America s Research and Policy Center.

Taylor Hopkinson Wins Offshore Wind Contract in Taiwan

March 8, 2021, by Nadja Skopljak Taylor Hopkinson has secured a contract to provide client representatives for the Changfang and Xidao offshore wind projects in Taiwan. Taylor Hopkinson will provide client representatives across all packages – foundations, turbines and cables, including onshore HDD works. The agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) began in January and will run until 2023. “With Taylor Hopkinson on board, we will be able to support our project team and suppliers and ensure consistency across all of our offshore transport and installation activities,” said Ryan Colbeck, Senior Project Manager for Changfang & Xidao. “The next three years will be an exciting time in what is still a developing market. However, with the support of our trusted suppliers and partners, we know the project will be a resounding success.”
