Police: 2 men shot in Fairhill, one critically, as gun violence surges

FAIRHILL - Two men in Fairhill are victims in Philadelphia’s spiraling violence crisis, as they were shot late Monday afternoon.
Authorities said the double shooting happened on the 3400 North Howard Street Monday, just before 5 p.m.
Responding officers found a 72-year-old man shot once in the cheek. He was taken by police to Temple University Hospital and placed in stable condition.
At the same location, a 45-year-old man was shot multiple times throughout his body. He was also taken by police to Temple and listed in critical condition.

A day after 16 people were shot and four killed in Philadelphia, the violence in the city continued with three people killed and five others injured in six separate shootings across the city Monday afternoon into the evening.
The first shooting occurred on the 3100 block of Jasper Street at 3:55 p.m. Monday. A 20-year-old man was shot once in the chest while a 28-year-old man was shot once in the left elbow and grazed in the left hip. Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital. The 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. while the 28-year-old man is in stable condition.

On the heels of a deadly weekend that left 25 people shot, the gunfire is showing no signs of slowing down in Philadelphia.
Three people were killed and six others were injured in seven separate shootings across the city since Monday.
Stolen SUV Shooting
Police say the SUV with two men inside was shot up around 5 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of East Indiana Avenue in Kensington.
The driver was able to run to safety, right as someone stole the SUV with the shooting victim still in the passenger side.
