The following was written by retired Corson County sheriff Keith Gall and sent to DRG Media Group, Mobridge and other local media outlets April 25, 2021:
“I want to take this time to finally be able to thank everyone for their support, kind words, cards, and gifts that I received since my retirement announcement on March 2
nd and last day of working for the Corson County Sheriffs Office on March 12
th. On April 17
th there was an open house at the city hall in McIntosh where many people showed up for great conversation, cake, coffee, and drinks. I want to thank my wife, Heather Gall and the Corson County Sheriff’s Office staff for planning this awesome get together. During this time, I received a crystal plaque, and to my surprise, my duty gun, a Glock model 45 9mm (which involved a hiccup ). There were representatives from Sheriffs Offices, both currently serving and retired, Highway Patrol, FBI, and a kind letter from the

A 28 year old man from Mobridge has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Spencer Jacob Rinehart pled not guilty.
Court information alleges between January 1, 2017, and April 29, 2020, Rinehart knowingly conspired with others to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in Mobridge.
The maximum penalty if convicted is 40 years in prison and/or a $5,000,000 fine, a lifetime of supervised release and restitution may be ordered.
The investigation is being conducted by the Mobridge Police Department,
the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Corson County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services.
After 30 years of service, Corson County Sheriff Keith Gall retired Friday (March 12, 2021).
County commissioners appointed Deputy Alan Dale to take over as Sheriff effective Saturday (March 13).
Dale grew up in Pierre and has a Law Enforcement Science degree from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls.
Dale has been with the Corson County Sheriff’s Office since 2011. In 2013, he became a Drug Abuse Resistance Education Instructor (D.A.R.E.). In 2016, Dale became certified as an Active Shooter Threat Instructor. Since then, he has trained area Law Enforcement agencies on how to respond to an Active Shooter incident.
Dale has also spent time as a board member for the McLaughlin City Council and is the Current President of the Fraternal Order of Police-Northern Plains Lodge.
