The incident, according to BASL AVSEC Manager, Olatubosun Okeowo, occurred at about 5:15 pm while the passenger who just returned from the United States of America were at the terminal to link up with an Uyo-bound airline.
It was gathered that the passenger was at the Ibom Airline Check-in counter alongside other intending passengers.
It was at that point that he got carried away and lost concentration on his bag.
During the CCTV investigation by BASL AVSEC Team, it was discovered that the bag was accidentally picked up by a fellow passenger.
MMA2 takes delivery of $500,000 x-ray machines

The Management of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, operator of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Terminal 2 has received new x-ray machines and air conditioners from the United States.
Group Corporate Affairs Manager of BASL, operator of MMA2, Mikail Mumuni, in a statement on Friday said the equipment imported from the US arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Wednesday night from where they were later moved to MMA2.
He added that installation of the x-ray machines and air conditioners would commence on Friday evening and that this would be completed within one week.
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services (BASL) has taken delivery more airport equipment to upgrade its systems and make passenger experience more memorable.
Specifically, the terminal operator has taken delivery of more X-ray machines and air conditioning equipment in order to ensure passengers’ safety, improve security and comfort.
The BASL Acting Head of Business, Mr. Raphael Uchegbu, who disclosed the development when executives of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) paid a courtesy visit to the company, noted that BASL has been upgrading and improving all its facilities since inception.
Uchegbu, stated that when BASL started operations, the company had all its facilities intact but as at 2015, when some of them started needing change, it embarked on a massive replacement drive, which included the escalators and the air conditioning units.
