A new president and CEO has been selected to head the Kitsap Community Foundation, following last fall s departure of Kol Medina.
Geoff Ball, who was the executive director when the Haselwood YMCA opened in 2011, began April 27. Gina Anstey had served as interim president and CEO since Medina s resignation.
Ball, who lives on Bainbridge with his family, was raised in Massachusetts and began his career as a leader in the nonprofit sector with the Hartford YMCA in Connecticut. He moved to the Northwest to work for the YMCA s Camp Orkila in Seattle, then returned east to the YMCA of Greater Boston, leading the camping services branch. He relocated to West Sound when he came to work at the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, where he led YMCA s Camp Seymour and then the new branch in Silverdale.
