COVID-19: Goa ministers demands extension of lockdown for 8-9 days ANI | Updated: May 01, 2021 14:19 IST By Anil Sanadi Panaji (Goa) [India], May 1 (ANI): As the number of COVID-19 cases is spiraling with each passing day, Goa Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Saturday informed that he will be writing to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to undertake more preventive measures similar to a lockdown in order to tackle the second wave of the pandemic. Speaking to ANI, Lobo said, I am writing a letter to the CM today that we need to go for more preventive measures. A situation like a lockdown but we cannot call it a total lockdown. More preventive measures for nearly 8-9 days to break this chain must be taken.

Don’t fall prey to fake messages on lockdown extension: Goa Minister By IANS|   Published: 27th December 2020 9:11 pm IST Panaji, Dec 27 : Goa Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Sunday appealed to the people not to fall prey to fake messages circulating on Whatsapp, which claim that tourism businesses in the state would be impacted due to an impending lockdown. Lobo said that Goa could not afford another lockdown and urged people to continue practicing Covid-related precautionary measures in order to keep sustain businesses and livelihoods linked to tourism-related businesses. “Someone is spreading false news that from December 27 to March 21, Goa will be under lockdown for tourism. This is a false news. They are trying to drive away, whatever little businesses are running in the state,” the Minister told the media here.
