The siblings were fatally shot on Jan. 4. COSHOCTON – George Jones Sr. is still recovering from hearing the news about the brutal shooting deaths of his two children, Joshua Jones and Martha Young. However, he and his family are finding solace in the support of the community, the love they have in each other and knowledge that the siblings were at peace with where they were in their lives, although they did leave unfinished business. It’s the goal of the family to remember them with memorials and other projects, but also to just live their lives as a testament to the people Josh and Martha were.

Community pledges more than $20,000 for homicide victims funerals

Coshocton Tribune COSHOCTON - More than $22,000 has been pledged in about a day to support funeral expenses for sibling victims of a double homicide.  George Jones Sr., father of Martha Young and Joshua Jones, started a Facebook fundraiser page on Tuesday to assist the family with funeral expenses for the pair who died from multiple gunshot wounds Monday in the Olde Hickory Subdivision of Canal Lewisville. At 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, it had brought in $22,183 from 486 donors. The set goal was $2,000. Edward L. Young, 42, Coshocton, was formally charged with murder in relation to the shooting death of Joshua on Tuesday. Charges were yet to be filed as of early Wednesday afternoon in connection to Martha. The Coshocton County Prosecutor s Office is continuing to review the case and more charges are expected. 

Patrol: Area Man Charged with 7th OVI Offense

WHIZ News Patrol: Area Man Charged with 7th OVI Offense The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol charged an area man with a 7 th impaired driving offense.  Trooper say 48-year-old Craig Wood of Newcomerstown was operating a vehicle while impaired on December 29 th.  He was stropped for a traffic violation that occurred on State Route 16 in Coshocton County.  The investigating trooper says he determined Wood was operating while impaired by alcohol.  The Patrol says Wood has felony OVI charges pending in Muskingum County.  Felony OVI charges will be presented to the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.
