Top Giver Award went to McWane Ductile for collecting $40,000

COSHOCTON - Every year the United Way of Coshocton County holds its annual meeting to publicly recognize and thank local businesses which earned awards for their contributions to the campaign. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s celebration had to be canceled.
The goal for the 2020 to 2021 campaign was $325,000. To date, the United Way has received $266,495 in donations and pledges, which is 82% of the goal.
Divided into divisions, the professional, public employees and schools all surpassed their goals at 104%, 121% and 106% respectively. Videos of the award winners can be viewed by going to coshoctonunitedway.org.
Two vehicle collision injures three on U.S. 36

COSHOCTON - Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision late Friday evening in Lafayette Township.
The Coshocton County Sheriff s Office said the incident occurred about 11:28 p.m. Friday at the intersection of U.S. 36 and Ohio 93. Deputies determined that a 2016 Honda Civic driven by Spencer Andrews, 22, of Uhrichsville, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 36 when he failed to stop for a red light. He then struck a 2010 Subaru SUV driven by Erica Charles, 24, of Gambier.
Charles and a young child in her vehicle were transported by Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services to Coshocton Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the sheriff s office said. Brandon Abel, a passenger in the Subaru, was transported to the medical center by private party.
Zanesville man injured in single-vehicle accident
GAYSPORT, Ohio–A Zanesville man was critically injured in a one vehicle crash in Muskingum County Sunday evening.
According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, the crash took place on Rural Dale Road in Blue Rock Township around 7:30 pm.
Sgt. Jeff Jirles says that 56 year old Scott Milner, driving a Ford pick up, failed to negotiate a turn, going off the side of the road, striking an embankment and coming to rest on the driver’s side in a ditch.
Milner, troopers say, was not wearing a seat belt at the time, was partially pinned under the truck. He was extricated by mechanical means by firefighters.

Deputies Believe Speed and Alcohol Led to an Accident Involving a Zanesville Man
One person was injured in an accident early Thursday morning in Coshocton County.
The accident took place just before 5 a.m. at State Route 83 and County Road 429 in Franklin Township.
Deputies said that 28-year-old Gage Thomas, of Zanesville, was traveling east on County Road 429 when he went through the intersection at State Route 83, lost control and struck an embankment.
Thomas was taken to Coshocton Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
