Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll, a plaintiff-side complex litigation firm, experienced unauthorized access to its computer systems in January, according to a notice on its website. The firm said it investigated the incident and isn t aware of any misuse of information.
The firm disclosed Friday that it discovered unusual activity on certain computer systems on Jan. 23, potentially risking the security of some data. A Cohen Milstein representative said on Monday that a small subset of the firm s servers and cases may have been affected.

A lawsuit against Wells Fargo over the use of its own investment products in the company’s $40 billion 401(k) plan this week cleared a major hurdle.
On Wednesday a federal judge denied a motion to dismiss the case, finding that the plaintiffs’ “allegations are far more than general assertions, and that accepted as true, show that [the] defendants engaged in prohibited transactions.”
The development likely gives the plaintiffs more leverage for a settlement, as the class-action case has moved one step closer to a trial.

Companies across the United States should be closely following the California State Legislature hearings on the “Silenced No More Act,” which would prevent the use of nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) to silence employees from speaking up about all forms of discrimination and harassment.
The legislation was introduced in response to the stunning claims brought forward by former Pinterest employees alleging a pattern of racial and gender discrimination, harassment and retaliation. They courageously called attention to the hypocrisy of Pinterest’s aspirational comments on social issues even though the company had required them to sign NDAs.

Cohen Milstein Rips Paul Weiss, Alex Oh s Half Apologies
