OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – A former project engineer at Zeeland-based Gentex Corp. says she was fired after complaining about a male-dominant “bro culture” within company leadership.
Elizabeth Helminski alleged gender discrimination and retaliation under state and federal laws in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.
She said she was harassed and ultimately fired after she complained of being treated differently than her male co-workers. She is seeking lost earnings and benefits and compensation for mental anguish and emotional distress.
