On the show, Nees and Lamp talked about the closure of their production plant in China and the search for a new partner. They have tried to find a U.S. location, but he says the options they have found so far have been cost prohibitive and they are currently utilizing a plant in India. They will, however continue to look at American options, potentially even in Holstein because supporting the local economy was the main goal of Muff Waders in the first place. The pair also has their sights set on local distributors first and foremost.

Their overalls (aka bibs) are designed with a built-in insulated pocket that can hold and keep up to 6 cans of drinks cool while keeping your hands free to do “manly” chores including chop wood. The brand tagline is:
Manly + Tuff – Muff. There’s also a zippered “concealed” pocket inside the overalls for “valuable items that some people might judge you for having.”
MASON DOCKTER
HOLSTEIN, Iowa A pair of friends from Holstein, Iowa, will appear on the ABC program Shark Tank on Friday pitching Muff Waders, a work-and-leisure garment they ve brought to market.Â
Muff Waders are bib overalls (they can be used like waders to some extent, but they are not waterproof) that have a built-in beer cooler on the chest, large pockets on the legs to hold liquor bottles and an attached bottle-opener. A beer koozie can be attached to the front of the overalls. There s also a hidden pocket on the inside to hold odds and ends, like chewing tobacco.
Their main pitch to the sharks is their brand, but the lawyers requested removal of some of what Nees calls the most fun aspects of their approach. However, it was an incredible experience and they can’t wait to share their adventure. He says they have worked for months developing a production line and the website is ready for orders. The pair will be hosting a watch party Friday night at the Boulders Inn and Suites in Holstein and everyone is welcome to join them for drinks and a toast to their success. A link to the entire interview with Nees can be found below. We have also included links to some of their YouTube product videos.
