The Craven County Sheriff’s office is seeking a man wanted for a stabbing in Vanceboro.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home on the 11000 block of U.S. 17 in Vanceboro where they found Jeffery Jackson Jr., 36, a resident who had been stabbed multiple times.
He was transported to Vidant Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
Rimez Person, 20, of Greenville, has been identified as the person responsible. He is wanted for felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflicting serious injury and felony breaking and entering with intent to injure the occupant.
Deputies with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public s help in finding a missing Asheville teenager.
Tyler Cole Lewis, 17, was last seen leaving the Methodist House on Old Airport Road in New Bern wearing a black coat, black pants, and a pair of black Air Jordan’s.
Lewis is from Asheville and has been in contact with his social worker by phone. It is believed Lewis is in the Asheville area, according to the CCSO.

The Craven County Sheriff s Office are searching for a man accused of kidnapping and elderly abuse.
Rodney Cleon Gaskill Jr., 58, is described a 5 5 white male, 180 lbs, bald, with green eyes. His last known address is 3904 Brandywine Drive near Carolina Colours in James City.
Gaskill, a convicted felon, was recently released from prison in 2018 after serving four years for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury. He was placed on parole for the following year, which he violated and was sent back to jail before he was released again in Feb. 2020, according to the NCDPS.
Gaskill s arrest record dates back to 1984 when he was charged with DWI. He also has charges of resisting a public officer, assault on a policeman, three assault of a female, along with numerous other assault charges.
