Around one in eight people who have had the Covid-19 vaccine in Bradford have now received both doses ALMOST 20,000 further people received the Covid-19 vaccine in Bradford in the last week of March, the latest NHS England figures reveal. In thhe most recently published data to March 28, a total of 219,473 people in the district have now had at least one dose of the vaccine, 47.2 per cent of the population. For the over 60s, the figure has risen slightly to 89.5 per cent, up one per cent from the week before. For people in their 50s, 75.8 per cent are now vaccinated, a rise of almost 14 per cent from the previous week s figures.

With the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination in Bradford district and Craven progressing well, the NHS is reminding people of the importance of having their second dose. People need two doses of the vaccine to get the maximum amount of protection and should have their second vaccination 11 to 12 weeks after their first dose. More than 32,250 people in the first priority groups have already received their second dose in Bradford district and Craven and the vaccine is being carefully allocated to make sure everyone gets their second dose at the right time.

Another Covid-19 vaccine centre opens its doors in Bradford today

From today, people will be able have their vaccination at Bradford College Old Building.  Phil Hubbard, director of nursing, professions and care standards for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, which is leading the centre, said: “The new site means that we can further increase capacity as needed, to vaccinate more people over the coming weeks.  I’d like to thank Bradford College for all their commitment and support in getting the vaccination centre up and running as part of the district-wide efforts, and all those who are working on-site. It’s been a tremendous team effort across a number of organisations including the college, volunteers, the fire service and the army, working alongside the NHS.”
