A crossing guard was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon in Towson.
Baltimore County police said officers responded to the 800 block of Providence Road around 3:45 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
SkyTeam 11 was over the scene on Providence Road, near Cromwell Valley Elementary School where the accident happened.
Police said a man driving an Acura hit the crossing guard.
The guard was flown to a hospital by a Maryland State Police helicopter. Doctors said the crossing guard s injuries are life-threatening. We re more focused now, again she s at the hospital and is being taken care of and attended to. I am sure we will follow tomorrow with the identity of who the crossing guard is, but at this moment, let’s just send prayers and make sure we are looking out for one another while we are out here, said Officer DJ Moore, of the Baltimore County Police Department.
