Over $50k granted as CFKR grows endowment funds | Cranbrook, East Kootenay, Elk Valley, Elkford, Fernie, Sparwood

Posted: May 18, 2021 Over $50k granted as CFKR grows endowment funds The Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR) has recently completed its largest ever annual granting program, allocating a total of $53,300.19 to 41 community projects/initiatives. In addition, a total of $32,730.77 has been re-invested in the principals of 17 endowment funds, to grow future granting. “The Community Foundation is thrilled to support the excellent work of these local non-profit organizations that contribute so much to each of our communities, especially during the current pandemic,” stated Lynnette Wray, CFKR Executive Director. The Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR) provided 2021 grants to a wide range of community projects and programs. All grant applications were reviewed by CFKR’s local volunteer committees, with granting decisions ratified by the CFKR Board.

It’s time to replace them and our exciting Raise the Curtain Raffle will help us to do just that. With so many upgrades going on throughout our facility it is time for our stage to shine in anticipation of the return of performers and our audience. Bring a Buddy and Pay it Forward

Posted: December 17, 2020 To Celebrate Bud Abbott th Birthday – January 26, 2021 Cranbrook Community Theatre Society (CCT), a nonprofit organization and registered charity that stewards Cranbrook’s Studio Stage Door heritage building, will honour the late Bud Abbott with two initiatives that promise to start the new year off right. As many locals know, Bud Abbott loved and advocated for theatre and performing arts for his entire life. In 1973, he played a key role in acquiring the Masonic Temple that is now known as the Studio Stage Door. Membership funds help CCT to maintain this 111-year old treasure. The ‘Bring a Buddy’ membership campaign has a goal of 100 new CCT members to keep “theatre for the community, by the community” active and well in Cranbrook.
