Township police officers responded to the 200 block of DuBois Avenue around 12:20 a.m. for a report of shots fired. No one in the home was injured, but property damage was discovered. Township police and Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office investigators located and seized unspecified evidence at the scene, according to an announcement about the incident. Nicholas D. Coffin, 24, of West Deptford Township, allegedly contacted a 12-year-old girl via social media and offered to pay her for illicit photos and videos, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. A search warrant was served at Coffin’s home on Jan. 14 and he admitted owning a “suspect social media account” and “soliciting and receiving illicit pictures from other children.” He was charged with first-degree manufacturing child sexual abuse material and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was placed in Salem County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.

Owens, who previously worked at the site, confronted a woman with whom he had a prior relationship, followed her inside the building, grabbed her and fired a handgun into the air. He announced that he was taking the woman hostage, said he was going to kill her and pistol-whipped a security guard, according to the state Attorney General’s office, which reviewed the circumstances surrounding the shooting and cleared the office
