The Railway Children is a classic film in which Yorkshire is a star in itself. The film, with Oakworth Station and Haworth playing lead roles, celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.
Now filming is due to start on a sequel, The Railway Children Return, due for release this time next year. Returning to the screen will be Jenny Agutter, alongside Sheridan Smith, Tom Courtenay and a new generation of Railway Children.
BAFTA winning director Morgan Matthews will be shooting in key locations from the original film, including Oakworth Station, Haworth, and The Bronte Parsonage. The iconic Keighley & Worth Valley Railway from the original film will also feature.
The Railway Children is to get a sequel more than half a century after the original film was released.
Jenny Agutter is set to reprise her role as Bobbie Waterbury and will star alongside Sheridan Smith, Tom Courtenay and a new generation of railway children.
The original movie was based on the novel of the same name by E Nesbit and follows three children who - as a result of their father s enforced absence - move to Yorkshire with their mother as they attempt to discover the reason for his disappearance.
The new film, which has been titled The Railway Children Return will shoot at locations across the UK, including the iconic Keighley & Worth Valley Railway from the original adaptation as well as Oakworth Station in Haworth in West Yorkshire and the Bronte Passage.

Jenny Agutter will reprise her role as Roberta Waterbury in a sequel to The Railway Children more than 50 years after the original film.
The Call The Midwife star, 68, will be joined by Sheridan Smith and Sir Tom Courtenay for The Railway Children Return.
Principal photography will begin in the UK on May 10.
The Railway Children told the story of a mother and her three children who move to the Yorkshire countryside after their father is falsely imprisoned. The book, written by E Nesbit, was originally published in 1906.

Sheridan Smith and Sir Tom Courtenay will join Call The Midwife star Agutter, 68, in the cast, with filming due to start on 10 May.
The sequel, titled The Railway Children Return, will feature a new generation of youngsters who are evacuated to a Yorkshire village during the Second World War, where they encounter a young soldier who is also far from home.
