Luke Air Force Base deemed safe after reported bomb threat

Luke Air Force Base was deemed safe after the report of a bomb threat on Thursday evening, according to a news release issued Friday morning by the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base.
A car arrived at the base s South Gate on Litchfield Avenue and the group of passengers indicated there might have been an explosive in the car, the release stated.
Security officers immediately responded to the threat and established a 1,000-foot barrier around the perimeter, according to the release.
According to the release, the barrier affected all inbound and outbound traffic from South Gate and Litchfield Avenue until approximately 1 a.m. Friday.
