Quebec adds 1,168 new cases of COVID-19 ahead of special announcement by premier

Health-care professionals in the province analyzed 24,065 samples on April 3. The new numbers bring the overall total number of infections since the start of the pandemic in Quebec to 317,364. Of those who tested positive, 296,396 are reported to have recovered, an increase of 943 from Sunday. REGIONAL BREAKDOWN Regions with triple digit new cases include Montreal (348 new, 117,599 total), Quebec City (243 new, 25, 434) and Monteregie (129 new, 44, 842). Bas-Saint-Laurent, Montreal, the Laurentides and Monteregie all recorded one new death in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in those regions are, respectively, 32, 4,630, 488, and 1,513. On Monday, the health minister said Montreal continues to be placed under pressure due to the health crisis and that situation in Quebec s hospitals is worrying.
MONTREAL After reporting over 1,300 COVID-19 cases for the first time since January on Friday, Quebec reported Saturday that 1,282 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of infections in the province to 314,958 since the start of the pandemic. Of those, 294,560 are said to have recovered from the disease, an increase of 993. The Quebec Institute of Public Health (INSPQ) is reporting that there are 9,714 active COVID-19 cases in the province, an increase of 286 from Friday. The province also reported three more deaths due to the disease, which occurred in Montreal between March 27 and April 1. Quebec reported no new deaths in the past 24 hours.
MONTREAL After recent high daily case numbers raised the seven-day average from 853 to 1,081 cases per day in a week, Quebec reported 1,154 new positive COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours on Sunday. The total number of infections since the start of the pandemic is now 316,112, including 295,453 recoveries, an increase of 893 from Saturday. The Quebec Institute of Public Health (INSPQ) reports that there were 9,966 active novel coronavirus cases in the province on April 3, which dropped from the 10,139 reported April 2. (Quebec gives its active case data from the day before its daily updates). The province also reported nine more deaths due to the novel coronavirus, including one in the past 24 hours, seven between March 28 and April 2, and one at an unknown date.
