Jean-François Dumoulin, who normally races in NASCAR’s Pinty series, was the first racer to test the new prototype Sentra (developed by Quebec’s Motorsports in Action) and says the new car “is definitely a leap forward for one-make racing.”
OK, so it’s faster. But how’s it going to get bigger?
at least 15 new Sentras
According to Jacques Deshaies, president of series organizer JD Motorsport, there’s still a lot of love amongst racers for the miniscule little Micra. So much, in fact, that Deshaies has decided to run the two series concurrently – Sentras and Micras sharing the same track but racing in two distinct series. But, with Dehaies promising at least 15 new Sentras will be joining some 20 old-school Micras at Bowmanville, Ontario’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park’s opener in May, it’s shaping up to be the biggest grid in the Cup’s history.
