Quaid Day, Christmas celebrated

LAHORE:Quaid-e-Azam was the perfect example of Iqbal s Mard-e-Momin and Rumi s Mard-e-Kamil. This was stated by Senator Waleed Iqbal while addressing an event on Quaid-e-Azam Day organised by Aiwan-e-Iqbal and Iqbal Academy Pakistan. Iqbal Academy Pakistan Vice-President Dr Shahzad Qaiser, Director Prof Dr Baseera Ambreen, Anjum Waheed, administrator Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Nuzhat Akbar regional director, National Book Foundation, Brigadier (retd) Wajahat Hussain Sahi, director, Numl University and Haroon Akram Gill were also present.
Waleed Iqbal said Quaid-e-Azam changed the course of time, history and nation. Prof Dr Baseera Ambreen said “Both Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal are our focus and centre. Alhamra celebrates Quaid’s birth anniversary

LAHORE:Lahore Arts Council (LAC) celebrated 144th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with great respect here on Friday at Alhamra Art Centre, the Mall Road.
Information Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar was the chief guest on the function. He cut the cake along with Chairperson Alhamra Moneeza Hashmi, Executive Director Saman Rai and DGPR Dr Aslam Dogar, Director-General PILAC Dr Sughra Sadaf, Director Lahore Museum Ejaz Ahmad Minhas and other officials.
On the occasion, Provincial Secretary for Information and Culture, Raja Jahangir Anwar said that today is a day of happiness not only for me but for the entire Pakistani nation. In addition, today is a day to renew one s commitment as a Pakistani citizen. We are fortunate to have a leader who, with his brilliant ingenuity, changed the map of this world forever.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony has issued a notification advising the general public to abandon practice of observing one minute silence or holding a day of remembrance to pay tribute to a Muslim personality.
Instead, the Ministry said the Muslims should offer Dua-e-Magfarat, recite Surah Fateha, Surah Akhlas and Darood Sharif as per Islamic practice and injunctions. Thenotification, however, said that non-Muslims could observe such events as per their practice and religious beliefs. The notification was issued last week but made public on birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of the country.
President Arif Alvi urges children to follow Quaid’s principles

Islamabad : President Dr Arif Alvi Friday urged the children of Pakistan to excel in every field of knowledge and skills by adhering to the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and make the country rise.
“Great countries are built by strong and disciplined nations, who are committed to growing in every sphere of life with hard work, commitment and sincerity of purpose,” the President told a gathering of children at an event marking the Quaid’s birth anniversary.
The programme titled Quaid and children was part of the special celebrations for the Quaid Day, held every year at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
