‘Complete powers being transferred to south Punjab Secretariat’ National April 13, 2021 MULTAN: Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik Monday said all departments and powers were being transferred to the south Punjab Secretariat. Addressing meeting of Multan Development Package in the Committee Room of DC office, the minister said elected representatives of Multan and city district administration had started preparing proposals for Multan Development Package rtaht would be presented in the next Punjab Cabinet meeting scheduled in Multan in the current month. Consultations were held regarding the announcement of development package for consultation. The minister said only policy and legislation would be in the provincial capital Lahore and the Prime Minister would lay the foundation stone of the South Punjab Secretariat after Eidul Fitr.

Governor Chaudhry Sarwar issues Ord to regulate housing schemes Lahore April 10, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar issued an ordinance on Friday for setting up of a commission to regulate housing schemes in the province and take strict action against illegal housing schemes. Talking to the media later, the Punjab governor said that illegal housing schemes would not be tolerated in any circumstances, and immediate and strict measures would be taken against them. The ordinance said that a commission headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan would be constituted to take action against illegal housing schemes in Punjab. A town planner with 20 years of national and international experience, a civil engineer with 20 years of experience, a lawyer and an environmentalist with national and international experience will also be members of the commission.

State land worth Rs275 million retrieved: Ombudsman

Lahore April 8, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab ombudsman has taken strict action against land-grabbers, retrieving 351 kanals and 14 marlas of state land worth more than Rs275 million. Provincial Ombudsman Major (r) Azam Suleman in a meeting presented the annual report to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar. Chaudhry Sarwar said that the provision of speedy justice would strengthen Pakistan. Oppression and injustice will not be tolerated with anyone. He praised the performance of the provincial ombudsman. The governor said the government had an unequivocal policy against land-grabbers. The PTI government is purging the institutions of political interference. Providing immediate justice will strengthen Pakistan and the role of provincial ombudsman in ensuring the provision of justice is commendable.
