Work on 15 new varsities starts: Sarwar

July 28, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said work has been started on establishing 15 new universities in the province as the provincial government is pursuing a policy of setting up universities in every district. He said this during a meeting with PHEC Chairman Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid who called on him at Governor’s House and presented him PHEC’s annual report. The governor was informed that the PHEC had launched a Rehnumai Markaz portal to provide timely information to the students and solve their problems. He also briefed the governor about various other projects of the Punjab Higher Education Commission.

Afghan unrest to affect entire region: Sarwar

July 24, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that Afghan Vice-President Amrullah s negative propaganda against Pakistan is a conspiracy against peace in the region. Afghan government is hiding its failures but it will not succeed in its plan. Pakistan supports all Afghans for peace. He stated this while talking to Provincial Minister for Excise Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, MNA of Tehreek-e-Insaf Faizullah Kamak and media representatives at Badshahi Masjid after offering Eid prayers. Governor said that Pakistan had sacrificed more than 70,000 lives in the war against terrorism for establishment of peace in the region, adding that even today Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, is playing its role in the Afghan peace process with sincerity. He said that the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan would not only affect Afghanistan but the entire region. Two exhibitions open at National History Museum

Two exhibitions open at National History Museum July 15, 2021 LAHORE : National History Museum, Lahore, has two more new and exciting exhibitions curated by The Citizens Archive of Pakistan. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar inaugurated the exhibitions. The governor was received by Jahanzeb Awan, CAP board member, and Yasir Gillani, Parks and Horticulture Authority. While speaking to the media, the Punjab governor said “I am delighted to know that more than 35,000 students have visited this museum so far. I am particularly touched by this visit because my own family had migrated to Pakistan and my parents used to tell me about all the sacrifices they rendered. I can spend a whole day here and I wish to come here again, silently and without media, to enjoy learning about our history.”
