Colorado Shooting Suspect Makes Second Court Appearance
DENVER A 22-year old man accused of fatally shooting 10 people in March at a Colorado supermarket made his second court appearance Tuesday and a judge scheduled a September hearing to review evidence in the case.
The hearing for suspect Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa lasted about two minutes and did not include any substantive discussion about the case, including his defense team’s claim the Alissa suffers from an unspecified mental illness.
At Alissa’s first hearing the week of the March 22 attack in Boulder, defense attorney Kathryn Herold said the defense legal team needed two or three months to evaluate his “mental illness” and evidence collected by investigators before proceeding. She did not provide more specific details about his mental health at that time.
Black Lives Matter Activist Sasha Johnson Shot in the Head, in ‘Critical Condition’
A London-based Black Lives Matter activist, Sasha Johnson, is in “critical condition” after she was shot in the head over the weekend, according to her political party.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has been brutally attacked and sustained a gunshot wound to her head,” the left-wing Taking the Initiative Party (TTIP), her political party, said in a statement. “She is currently in intensive care and in a critical condition.”
TTIP alleged that she was shot “following numerous death threats as a result of her activism,” and it noted that Johnson, a mother of three children, is “both a member of BLM and a member of Taking the Initiative Party’s Executive Leadership Committee.”
One Killed, 14 Injured In Illegal South Carolina Concert Shooting
One teenager died and 14 people were injured when an unidentified gunman opened fire on an illegal concert in North Charleston, South Carolina, Saturday, an ABC affiliate reported.
Law enforcement officials suspect the involvement of multiple gunmen, though no suspects were identified and the motive remains unclear, ABC News 4 reported. An unnamed 14-year-old girl died of her injuries and several others were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
“Something happened here that should have never happened. They should have never been set up in the first place here,” North Charleston Police Chief Reggie Burgess said during a Sunday press conference. “That young girl lost her life and 14 other people got victimized.”

A World Health Organization (WHO) official on May 10 claimed that China’s “comprehensive approach” has contained the transmission of COVID-19 in the country, while glossing over the Chinese regime’s heavy-handed methods used throughout the pandemic.
Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO’s Health Emergencies Program, credited China’s “comprehensive approach” to COVID-19 and not its vaccination program that is now allowing Chinese citizens to “go about their normal daily life” as thousands of people, many without masks or social distancing, were allowed to attend a music festival in Wuhan, the epicenter of the pandemic, more than a week ago.
