CHARLOTTE, N.C. While the Charlotte City Council boosted police officer pay this year, a Defenders investigation found the city manager quietly gave Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department command staff even larger increases.
The equity increases, laid out in an internal document obtained by WCNC Charlotte, went into effect on Dec. 5, and some police officers didn t know until now.
